One of the more expensive 17in models reviewed - weighing in at just under $1,800, the AG Neovo F-317 proves the adage that you get what you pay for.
Although AG Neovo makes a model that's below this one and much cheaper, Camcom decided that it would supply us with the fully featured display.
And the gamble's paid off. A consistently good performer in the majority of tests, the F-317 just tailed BenQ and Samsung screens in turns, but in the end came in just below them with the third-highest overall rating. This is despite showing below average fine focus – something that surprised us considering AG Neovo screens usually feature high-quality componentry.
In all other regards, the F-317 did well. Although its scores for colour and greyscale didn't add up to a great deal, when it came time to put the display to the test with DVDs, 3D graphics and text, it raced back to the upper end of the spectrum.
We gave the F-317 the highest marks for DVD playback, gaming and excellent viewing angles. It was also one of the rare screens that did not show signs of ghosting, even in the most demanding tests.
The monitor comes with D-Sub, S-Video and composite video inputs, and also has PiP (picture in picture) capabilities for dual simultaneous display of digital and analog signals. Rounding out its feature set is a superb pair of SRS speakers.
