SANYO VPC-R1

Tuesday October 01, 2002
Sanyo
AUD
$449
Price at time of review.

Sanyos line up of digital cameras falls at the budget end of the spectrum and the VPC-R1 is no exception. With a 1.3- megapixel CCD, the camera is large compared to the current crop of mini-cameras available.

A good budget camera that’s more than just a novelty.

We've found a digital compact under $150 that's not junk. Canon’s efforts to swamp the planet under five feet of compact cameras continues with its latest batch of PowerShot models.

The Vivicam 6200W is terminator-tough and cheap enough to condemn disposable underwater cameras to the low-tech graveyard

The best compact Sony yet, with bags of features squeezed into a very stylish package.

Surprisingly there's no visual voicemail on our Optus iPhone, but otherwise the phone performs brilliantly with a massive speed boost over the 1st gen model.

The pics are the best we've ever seen from a camera phone. Nokia's N82 springs to the top of our "phones that will replace your camera" list.

The A700 has excellent image quality, but is let down by design quirks and the high price.
