The Radeon HD 5670 is an ideal graphics card for multimedia enabled PCs

The Radeon HD 5670 is the smallest card we've seen from ATI's 5000 series of GPUs, and with DirectX 11, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and a single-height cooler as standard, it's an ideal fit for compact media-centre PCs. It's plenty powerful enough to decode 1080p Blu-ray, and can also run the latest games, albeit at low quality settings: the 512MB version scored 58fps in our 1280 x 1024 Crysis test at Medium settings, falling to 25fps when raised to High at 1600 x 1200, and also ran World in Conflict at 34fps in High settings at the same resolution. The larger and more powerful HD 4770 is still our value GPU of choice for gamers, but the HD 5670 is a cheap and neat media alternative that beats its own predecessor for performance while matching it on price.
