Price at time of review.

After enjoying the Satellite 2800 (reviewed issue 42, p80) so much, the Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 is a disappointment. This is surprising in that the general belief would be that the more powerful machine would be more appealing to the technically inclined than the Celeron-based Satellite 2800.

A good feature set and sterling performance in 2D and 3D but with a few irksome details.

Mobile Pentium III/700MHz CPU, 128MB PC100 SDRAM, integrated Trident CyberBlade video adapter with TV Out, 14.1in TFT LCD display, integrated Yamaha sound chip, integrated Intel Ethernet adapter, integrated V.90 modem, 18.6GB hard disk drive, Toshiba SD-C2402 DVD-ROM drive, 2 x Type II PC Card slots, 2 x USB ports, Windows 98 SE, DVD Express,Toshiba utilities.
