At the dizzying heights of performance that the Ti 500 version of the GeForce3 is able to achieve, there is not much headroom to distinguish between the competing models of the major players. Consequently, you can observe all the GeForce3 Ti 500s bunched together at the top of the performance graphs, with exceedingly small margins separating them.
The MSI GF3Ti500 Pro-VTG managed to poke its nose ahead of its rivals at the finish line to take out the Labs Award for Speed, showing that this MSI card definitely has it all. There were a couple of benchmarks that proved decisive; although not included in the graphs, the MSI Ti 500 model topped 3DMark2000 Pro with a very fast score of 10,783 at 1,024 x 768 with 32-bit colour. It also topped the Q3A benchmark at the 1,024 x 768 High Quality setting, scoring 96.4fps. Although the MSI was only 2.4fps ahead of the Hercules, with only tenths of a frame separating the others, the gap bears more significance.
In the end, performance among all the Ti 500s is a moot point. The MSI card distinguishes itself as also being a fully featured card, complete with TV-in, TV-out, composite ports and 3D glasses.
