Not only did the high-performance MSI G3Ti500 take the Speed Award, but the budget G3Ti 200 also received our Value Award. Clearly, MSI has pitched the G3Ti200 at the budget arena, combining a winning price with an impressive set of features.
First up in the feature set is the Ti 200s overclocking ability. The GeForce3 Titanium 200 offers all the features found in the high-end Titanium 500 cards, but is clocked substantially lower than the original GeForce3 to provide a budget solution. Through simple software overclocking, this effectively makes the underclocked Titanium 200 cards a serious competitor for the standard GeForce3. This feature alone is enough for many consumers to upgrade to a GeForce3, but MSI has also thrown in a range of connectivity options including S-Video in/out, composite out and 3D glasses.
As with all chipsets, the performance results are tightly clustered, providing very little variation across individual cards with the same chipset. With these results, features and price become the determining factors, and although it is only $5 dollars cheaper than the closest Ti 200 card, the included features easily allow the G3Ti200 to take the PC Authority Value Award.
