Pioneering the affordability trend in TFT screens, the MX151Ts $799 price tag might well be enough reason to go TFT for many users.

Pioneering the affordability trend in TFT screens, the MX151Ts $799 price tag might well be enough reason to go TFT for many users. Fortunately, the features and quality arent as comparatively low as its price tag, giving the MX151T the edge over other inexpensive models.

Physically, its a plain unit and one of the widest models in the Labs. Connectivity is limited to the standard VGA input, although some will welcome the two 1W speakers. While it appears to have a wider viewable area due to its size, the viewing angle is comparatively low at 75, with an equally low 20 physical tilt.

DisplayMate showed the MX151Ts strong point in sharpness and resolution tests, where its performance ranked second to the Philips and Sony models. Colour and greyscales indicated areas for improvement, with it showing a comparatively poor greyscale reproduction in the 256 greyscale level ramp. Colour analysis showed it suffered an above average mechanical deviation across all tests, with the largest deviation recorded in luminance consistency.

Overall, the MX151T has a surprising degree of quality for its price and comes highly recommended for those switching to TFTs for a minimal cost.
