The idea of carrying a separate screen around with your netbook may seem a little odd, but the fold-up design of this 7in display makes it feasible.
Its sole port is a mini-USB on the rear, and all you need to make it work is the latest DisplayLink driver; netbook owners will need to download it since it's provided on a CD.
Performance largely depends on the connected system: our netbook struggled with YouTube clips on its own screen, let alone the Mimo, but dragging a video window across from our full-sized PC showed no jerkiness.
It's obviously meant more for Outlook or messenger clients, but the 400:1 contrast and 800 x 480 resolution make for a perky picture. If you can stomach the price it does what it should do surprisingly well, and at less than a pound it won't weigh you down.
