Video2000 Pro from MadOnion (www.madonion.com) is one of the first comprehensive video quality and performance testing suites. It features an extensive range of video quality tests, including upscaling/downscaling, colourspace conversion and de-interlacing - all of which can affect the visual quality of video as it is played back. In performance terms the graphics card can take a significant load off the CPU in the encoding and decoding of DVD movies and the application of image quality-improving features. Performance tests include blitter performance, data transfer, DVD MPEG-2 playback, CPU load and MPEG-2 encoding.
