While it might seem like a good idea, the Seagate FreeAgent Theater is more novelty than useful. And the price point is not as competitive as others in this range.

Seagate's latest media player brings photo, video and music files to your TV with minimum hassle. Pop your files onto a flash drive or external hard disk - neither of which is included in the price - connect it to the USB port on the front fascia, and that's it.
There's no HDMI output, but component video delivers up to 1080i, while composite and S-Video outputs cater for standard-definition televisions. Ripped DVD movies work fine, along with DivX, XviD and AVI files, but photos are restricted to the JPEG format. The price is reasonable, but the interface is a touch clunky, and with more and more devices offering both HDMI and support for the increasingly popular MKV container, it doesn't quite do enough to impress.
