The D2+ comes in 4GB, 8GB or 16GB models, each of which also has an SDHC card slot. The 2.5in, 320 x 240 touchscreen has some extremely small buttons that are tricky to poke at without a stylus - which, although included, you can't store in the device.

Usage pains aside, the features are impressive. It supports WMA, OGG, FLAC, WAV and MP3, plus XviD and WMV video.

The screen is too small to watch movies, but it's much better for JPEG and BMP files.

There's an FM tuner, as well as the ability to record broadcasts; it can also record from its integrated microphone or the 3.5mm headphone jack, which doubles as a line-in.

Price-wise, it compares well to the iPod nano, but the better-looking nano is considerably more enjoyable to use.

 "a player squarely aimed at the iPod crowd". What the hell does this mean???? Does anybody know. Wouldn't they be better aiming it at the non-iPod crowd seeing it's not an iPod product. Just seems to make a bit more sense to me. I bought this player (and love it) yet I will never buy an iPod (the anti-iPod crowd). Obviously this player isn't squarely aimed at me! Should I return it?
Additionally congradulations on not referring in any way to the musical ability of this player. Fantastic. Is this where it's squarely aimed at the iPod crowd? The quality of the music is no where near the importance of me fitting in with the rest of the iPod crowd.

 Just bought the latest Cowon D2+ as it now has DAB+ digital radio as well as FM.
The sound quality seems a shade better than iPod and it's a damned sight easier to load with music - windows explorer or equivalent is all you need, it appears as an external hard drive.
Small point, but they also give the software updates, whereas iTunes charge for correcting something they missed, or stuffed up in the first place.
Early days, I know, but so far I'm very pleased with the Cowon.

 That's a review? You're joking right? You honestly couldn't be bothered using it for more than 30 seconds to write a tad bit more?

Heck, I wrote a review on this same player (yes, it's the same player minus the firmware update) on this very site!
