It's not quite an unboxing, but we thought you'd appreciate a quick look at the MSI Prestige we got into our labs for testing. It's designed to attract admiring glances on the train or plane, with a brown leather lid that sports an MSI logo and ostentatious yellow stitching. The black chassis with metallic-look keyboard and touchscreen entertainment controls, while still eyecatching, has a somewhat different aesthetic.

| The full package: sturdy leather carrycase, wireless mouse, 4GB USB key, and laptop. |
What's under the chassis is none too shabby either, though it's clear that the PX600 is more about looks than raw grunt. A 2.4GHz Intel Centrino 2 P8600 processor is complemented by 4GB RAM, but the storage is a little light at 250GB. Graphics comes from the included GeForce 9300M GS - nowhere near top of the range in graphics, but with enough performance to run all but the most demanding games around.

| The chassis and keyboard are serious black. |
We liked the accessories that came with the laptop, from the super-slimline 4GB USB key to the wireless mouse and rugged leather carry-case.
 |
| Note the yellow stitching, and the teeny-tiny USB key. |
Also appealing is the screen quality. At 15.4in with 1680 x 1050 resolution, you might not think that the Prestige sports a top of the line screen, but we were very pleased with the crispness, colour accuracy and detail. We've noticed before that some lines of MSI laptop - such as the EX300 - have screens that punch well above their weight and are capable of displaying immense detail, and the Prestige screen is no exception.
