The price quoted is actually for the pre-paid device which is a smaller usb stick and does not come with an external antenna. The 7.2mb usb stick (pictured in article)is for post paid only is $199.

The pre-paid pricing is very expensive in my opinion.

$20 = 150mb
$30 = 225mb
$40 = 300mb
$50 = 625mb
$60 = 750mb
$80 = 3.5gb
$100 = 6bg

They have always been expensive. I had to spell it out to them at one stage the costs of NextG (tm) broadband to them when I was fighting to get ADSL where I live now:

For the following examples I am using the need quota of atleast 12-16 gig of data a month. That would be the bear min I'd be looking at with speeds atleast 512/128 ...

Highest plan costs $109.95 for 3 Gb then .15c a mb after (or $150 per 1GB) NextG would cost: That's going to cost about $109.95 +$1500 (excess fees) to $109.95 + $2100 (excess fees) a month ...

**setup cost is $250 for the modem
## Does not work correctly in our area as my neigbour across the road from me has had nothing but trouble with it+

I kept a blog in the last little it of my fight...

Atleast been pre-paid you *shouldn't* get hit by excess fees but that said other providers of wireless prepaid broadband have better pricing...

+for the record once I eventually won the fight they put another 80+ ADSL ports in my local CMUX/RIM/Green evil box and the neighbour was able to get of NextG and onto ADSL without incurring cancellation fees..
