"Excellent value for the money"

Pros:
No external aerials,
Great design (sleek and very low profile),
easy to configure and secure network,
easy to navigate and set up configuration via web based configuration pages,
Very good value for money,
much easier to set up than mates D-Link router and modem.

Cons:
Not able to connect and external Aeriel to boost range if needed,
does take up a largish footprint on the desk.
This was very easy to set up and make the network secure, and I am by no means an IT expert. Was able to set it up and working with a wired desktop and a wireless laptop within 30 Min's from start to finish. Good features like being able to limit the times and days that a particular computer is allowed onto the Internet, no dodgy external aerials, modem and router built into one unit and all for under $200.00au. Easy to secure the network and make it unseen from another computer, able to connect both N and G ranged wireless devices and full steady and reliable download speed.

"Support vanishished from Linksys site"

Pros:
Looks great.
Good price.
Wired functionality is good.

Cons:
Flawed wireless functionality.
Not supported on Linksys web site.
On-line chat and telephone support staff don't seem to know why.
I also have problems with my WAG160N.

Access to Windows shared resources (file & print) only works for wired clients not wireless. Wireless clients get IP access only.

DHCP does not work for wireless Vista PCs.

The Linksys forums suggest that many other users have problems with this device.

The biggest dissapointment is that Linksys have removed all access to support for this device from their site (AU, NZ, US & UK) so I can't even look for firmware updates - and they have not communicated anything to their users. Is there a big fix firmware update coming? Who knows.

"Works for me"

Pros:
Affordable wireless-n with Annex-M.
Unobtrusive and reliable.

Cons:
I haven't found anything to whinge about in 2 months of use.
Cheap, fast, reliable and good-looking. I have used it now for 2 months, buying it the day after reading the review. It is hard-wired to my server and there are 2 laptops in the house, streaming video through 2 walls. It has handled everything we have tried to do with it.

"WAG160N works really well"

Pros:
Aesthetically pleasing design, small power adapter, internal aerials, 802.11n (2.0 draft) support, fast ADSL2+ connection, excellent interface, very well priced.

Cons:
Operates in mixed mode only, lack of DSL connection information, 10/100 port switch only, LELA unable to detect all clients, QoS throttling issues.
The Linksys WAG160N is an ADSL2+ gateway comprising the full functionality of an ADSL2+ Modem, Router, Switch, and Wireless Access Point. It joins other vendors such as Belkin who have bucked the trend of building gray unattractive boxes, and have come up with something quite aesthetically pleasing. The all-in-one design can happily substitute up to 4 individual network components into one neat and tidy package, however...

"WAG160N does not work"

Pros:
None

Cons:
Doesn't work.
Buyer beware. This equipment does not work properly. I bought the WAG160N so I could connect a new laptop by wireless. Needing a VoIP phone adapter to work with the modem I called Linksys to ask what I should do. They recommended a Linksys PAP2T adapter which I also bought.
1. The wireless internet connection fails frequently and constantly needs rebooting. I might just as well sit at the wired desktop.
2. The VoIP adapter normally does not work. Linksys tell me there is a known problem between the PAP2T and the WAG160N. It's sad that they didn't tell me this when I asked what to buy.
3. The WAG160N falls over every time I launch my P2P torrent program. Within two minutes the internet fails followed by the DSL line. It has never worked properly. Apparently this is also a known issue with this equipment.
I have spent many hours with Linksys help trying to fix these issues, including firmware upgrades and much stuffing around.
I have reached the point where I simply want my money back so I can buy other equipment that works.

The price quoted (and i'm assuming used in this review is $131) well below the current price: $219
Has thas the RRP changed drammatically, or were you using the wrong numbers. I'm not sure this product provides the same value for money as highlighted.

Although I note that linksys is offering cashback at the moment (S50 for the WAG160N and $100 for the WRT610N)

Far Cry 2 is an ugly game, simply because it all too accurately portrays a modern world conflict in a war-torn African nation.
