The speaker's best selling feature is its size - it slips comfortably within a coat or jacket pocket. Impressively, the Foxl drives 95db of blistering sound into 143mm of palm-sized sound goodness, which is certainly impressive. And it's fairly light too, tipping the scales at just 269grams.

The patented ‘Flatmagic’ bass radiator takes advantage of Soundmatters linear magnetic drive twofers, which are finely balanced and tuned to 100hz for eight full octaves.
We tested Foxl across a wide range of high fidelity audio samples, including a bunch of Mp3’s and lossless tunes. For such a small speaker, the vibrancy of the sound is intense. This speaker pumps, no doubt about it.
Foxl is powered by a lithium-ion ‘bass battery’, which can be recharged by the supplied USB cable or wall charger. Each charge is good enough for around 5 hours of playback. One of the few gripes we had with the Foxl was that 'we thought' it lacked a volume control; however, upon closer inspection, there is a small volume control hidden away on the back panel that could be better labeled for clarity.

Foxl is also capable of Bluetooth pairing, which is both easy and quick to setup. We had no problems pairing the Foxl with our Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, but found it suffered from a poor signal radius, especially when you moved the phone more than a foot away from the Foxl. You’ll need to turn the unit off and back on again, to pair different devices.
Foxl comes with audio-in, a sub-out port and an in-built microphone, making it very useful for hands free speakerphone conversations over Bluetooth.
There's also a handy foldable pop-up stand, which is smooth and contoured to the touch and is the kind of device you’re not likely to be embarrassed to be caught using on your travels.
The FoxlMB comes in two distinct models: the 'MB' version with built in Mic and Bluetooth for $249.00 and a version without, for $199. Both versions will be available to purchase only from the
Foxl website, although we recommend going through their distributor
Sound & Image for the latest information. We're being told to expect a launch date in the middle of
July this year.
