Intel has announced its new Intel Entry Storage System SS4200x series, a family of low-cost NAS sevices targeting the Small or Home Office sector, one of the last great growth markets in the high-tech marketplace.
The Entry Storage System has a nondescript “luggage-shaped” casing, rendered in black with a silver stripe running around the perimeter. This is described in Intel’s materials as a “flexible shell design”, clearly allowing OEM creators to make visually appealing variations. With a theoretical maximum capacity of 4TB (4x 1TB drives), it’s quite an affordable package for small organisations, or work-from-home professionals.
