RAID stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks, a way of chaining multiple hard drives together to increase data redundancy, or raw input/output performance. JBOD stands for Just a Bunch of Disks, a simple way of adding multiple disks together to make one large storage entity, without particular performance or data redundancy advantages.
