Gaming giant Electronic Arts and in-flight entertainment provider DTI Software have announced a global partnership that will bring top video games to airlines worldwide.

The deal covers games including Sims 2, which will be made available to DTI Software's 62 airline partners.

The Sims series has enjoyed tremendous popularity since its debut in 2000, and the game and its expansion packs have sold over 58 million units worldwide.

The partnership will also see Pogo.com titles including Poppit, Word Whomp, Phlinx, Tri-Peaks Solitaire, Harvest Mania, Tumble Bees, Great Escapes Solitaire and Turbo 21 become available to airline customers.

Pogo.com is a casual gaming site with over 15 million monthly players including 1.3 million paying subscribers.

Louis Belanger-Martin, executive vice president at DTI Software, said: "The Sims and Pogo.com are two of the most recognised brands in the game world. We are very enthusiastic about bringing the EA brand to in-flight passengers."
