Gigabyte's new Xtreme Gaming XC700W is aimed at you know who

Gigabyte's new Xtreme Gaming XC700W is aimed at you know who

Gigabyte's case business may not be its strongest suit, but the XC700W looks pretty compelling.

Gigabyte's new XC700W case looks like it should house a component of some futuristic spaceship. The two-tone, asymmetrical design manages to classy, without the all too common aggressive styling of many other gaming-aimed cases.

The Xtreme Gaming XC700W has shiny RGB lighting, because everything must be lit in 2016, removable dust filters, and - another must in the current generation of cases - an attractive tempered glass sidepanel. And it's a pretty hefty unit, measuring 593.5 x 240.5 x 546.6mm.

There's no optical drive bay, but there are three each of 3.5in and 2.5in bays. The SSD slots sit behind the motherboard tray, while the 3.5in slots can also fit 2.5in drives. There's eight expansions slots, and room for video cards up to 430mm in length. Cooling out of the box is single 140mm exhaust at the rear of the case, but there's room for either three 120mm fans on the top panel, or two 140mm models - not to mention space for a 360mm radiator for liquid cooling.

We've no details on pricing or availability, but we're definitely going to be keeping an eye out for this one.
