Samsung gets the telcos onboard to officially terminate any remaining Note 7s

Samsung has just announced a teaming with Australian telcos that will result in any still operating Note 7s having their network service discontinued on December 15th.

The device will still function, just not in any particularly useful way, unless you really like it as a camera...

This comes as no huge surprise. Safety is repeatedly claimed as Samsung's top priority. Any hold-outs can exchange their Note 7 for either a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge and get a refund for the price difference between what was paid for the Note 7 and the new device, as well as a $250 offer from a Samsung partner.

This offer ends on December 22nd leaving less than a week from the network termination to motivate recalcitrant Note 7 owners.
