Support GX Australia, the country's first queer gaming convention

Kickstarter project live now!

A great new Kickstarter project has just kicked off, to raise funds to organise Australia's first queer gaming convention.

GX Australia is bring organised with the support of the GaymerX convention, which is already a big event in the United States. GX Australia will by not just about gaming, though - it's a complete celebration of geek culture, covering games (of all kinds, including tabletops), comics, TV shows, cosplay and film.

GX Australia also expands on the US model - it's a 15+ convention, to support queer teens, and since it's being held at the Australian Technology Park at Redfern, Sydney, it'll have more space than any other GX event to date - which means more sponsors, attendees, and room for just general fun. It also focuses heavily on local, Australian talent, and it's timed to coincide with Sydney's annual Mardi Gras.

Convenient!

Current confirmed guests include developer Chris Avellone, and local cosplayer and tech writer, Rae Johnston, with a lot more to come.

Pledges start at as little as a dollar, but if you want to snag an early ticket, you'll need to pledge at least $75 - though that also gets you some neat perks, such as gaming docos and other loot.

The event's set for February 27 and 18 next year, and we're already excited - see you there! Pledge your support now.
