ASUS-Lamborghini VX1

Italian supercar-themed notebooks for when image is everything.
Asus has launched a Lamborghini-themed notebook for the style-conscious end of the market. Priced at $4199 the ‘ASUS-Lamborghini VX1’ is said by Asus to be “the ultimate fusion of information and automotive technologies.”

The stylish notebook is available in black or yellow, and features contour molding evocative of the lines of a Lamborghini. A carbon-alloy lid offers the more tangible benefits of light weight and strength. Other Lambo-themed features are desktop wallpaper and effects.

To ensure its premium positioning, Asus has included high (but not ultimate) components:

Specifications
Platform: Intel Centrino Duo
CPU: Intel Core Duo Processor T2500
Chipset: Intel 945PM
WLAN: Intel 3945ABG
LCD Screen: Colour Shine Glare Type 15” SXGA + (1400 x 1050)
Graphics: nVIDIA GeForce 7400/ 512MB Turbocache
HDD: 120GB
ODD: DVD 9.5” Super-Multi Double Layer
RAM: 1GB DDRII – 667 MHz
OS: Windows XP Professional

Considering the relatively high specs, the VX1 still manages just over 4 hours of battery life, and is slim and light.

Competitor Acer last year released the second generation of its Ferrari-themed notebook.

The VX1 will be available in June.
