Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 updated with 4G and Jelly Bean

Looking to buy a 10-inch tablet? The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 4G should be at the top of your shortlist

Samsung has quietly released an updated version of its flagship Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet that boasts 4G LTE, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and a ‘Samsung Premium Suite' of enhanced apps. In other respects, it's identical to the original, with a 10.1" 1280 x 800, 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and 16-64GB of internal storage

The Premium Suite, which will be available for older Note 10.1 tablets as an over-the-air update soon (it's already available for overseas models), makes the Galaxy Note 10.1 far more compelling.

Some of the new features include multi-window (open up to 16 supported apps at a time in floating windows), easy clip ('grab' anything on the screen with the stylus and paste it into S-Note and other apps), Air View (preview content such as appointments, email and videos by hovering the stylus above it) and Quick Command (launch apps and services using stylus gestures).

Combined with the existing features like the IR blaster, microSD expansion, HDMI output and USB input (using optional dongles), this has made the Galaxy Note 10.1 a formidable tablet that's arguably better-suited for productivity and creativity than any other tablet on the market.

Optus is currently selling the Galaxy Note 10.1 for $27.05 per month over 24 months ($649.20 altogether), combined with data plans that start at $19.95 for 2GB of data. According to Ausdroid, Telstra is also expected to start selling it any day now, which will boost the number of the carrier's 4G tablets to four.
