It’s time to start checking the Apple Store regularly for the “site down” status that flags a new product – the iMac is about to get a refresh.
On top of the myriad rumours of a new iMac coming soon, "multiple sources" have told Fox News that an update to Apple's all-in-one PC is imminent. On top of that, the current supply of 27in iMac models is reportedly running low. It’s unlikely that a refreshed iMac will appear at the same time as the iPhone 5 launch on September 12th, or the rumoured iPad Mini reveal in October – so we can expect to see it landing between the two.
The new iMac will likely not feature a Retina Display, but will showcase a redesigned exterior with an improved “full-lamination process” that should make the cover glass look smoother than ever. Add that to the Intel Ivy Bridge processors, USB 3.0, and larger SSDs and it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled for more news as it appears here.
