Google’s Play store has come a long way since it rebranded from Android Market, but it is still far from perfect. One of the most frustrating things about the store is the near impossibility of finding Apps on sale. Even more annoying is when there is an official sale being held with no indication.
This is happening at the moment, with an ‘End of Summer’ promotion going on to celebrate the Labour Day weekend in the states. It means a whole bunch of Apps are on sale, with some of our favourites like the Swiftkey keyboard as well as some normally expensive games like Square Enix’ Crystal Defenders.
To find the list of games on sales you can check out this search page, which lists everything tagged with the “***End of Summer Sale” text. There is also a featured Apps page here.
We also noted while poking around that Max Payne Mobile is also on sale, but isn’t part of the actual sale. You can currently grab it for $0.99 here, and this particular deals ends on the 4th September.
It is a great chance to check out some Apps whose pricetag may normally keep you away, and Nexus 7 owners can likely find something to spend that $25 of Play credit on. We just wish that Google wouldn’t make it so hard to work out what is on sale and what isn’t.
