Well, this is out of the blue. The next Skyrim DLC add-in is coming to Xbox - and presumably PC, eventually - on September 4, for 400MS cubits.
Hearthfire lets you buy land and then build your very own personal house, from plans you can purchase or find around the world. You can grow plants, build workshops, move in your loved ones, even adopt children, while also defending your new homestead from giants and rats.
And, I guess, giant rats*, too.
