Matthew Inman over at The Oatmeal has recently supported the "Let's build a Goddamn Tesla Museum" project by creating an account on Indiegogo.com and binding said account to the Charity in charge of the restorations.
There is a rather large problem however, and that is the property is currently on the market for 1.6Million USD, a rather hefty amount. Luckily the New York State has pledged to back the non-profit organisation dollar for dollar up to $850,000. This means if $850,000 is raised, then New York State will chip in the rest of the required funds, brining to total pool to $1.7Million - enough to make the purchase with a little breathing room should any other interested parties try to offer more money.
So the question is, how much respect do you have for one of the legends of modern science? The man who not only harnessed the incredible power of electricity in an age of darkness, but truly understood it. I for one would love to see this museum built, and hopefully later in life can afford the plane ticket to go and see it for myself. The question is, how much is this museum worth to you?
