I'm just going to get straight into this and leave the inevitable Ubi-bashing to you guys, but Ubisoft has officially launched its Uplay PC distribution platform.
Uplay PC is Ubisoft's answer to Steam and Origin, acting as a central point for game distribution and community services.
“Uplay PC is a great way for customers to discover Ubisoft’s games, connect with their friends and gaming communities, and win achievements and content that’s not available anywhere else.” said Stephanie Perotti, Worldwide Director for Online Games, Ubisoft, said in today's release. “For PC gamers that are already fans of Ubisoft’s titles or have been considering trying some of our classics, this promotion is a great deal, and our way of saying thank you for their support.”
The 'great deal' is a range of games available for only $1. The games are Driver: San Francisco, From Dust, Silent Hunter 5 and HAWX 2. A mess of other big Ubi titles are also availabel for up to 75 per cent off.
So, gang - $1's a great price for some great games, but does it offset Ubi's DRM?
