Wargame: European Escalation was a surprisingly gritty and addictive look at 'modern' warfare, with an amazing sense of scale, an excellent series of campaigns, and some gorgeous graphics. We hyped it a bit when we reviewed it, and were it not for the constant crawl of new games, it's likely something I'd still be playing.
But that's okay - there's a sequel on the way that'll give me even more reason to bore my girlfriend with tales of heroic tank attacks repulsed by cowardly gunship counter-attacks - Wargame: AirLand Battle.
The game will boast a whole new version of the rather impressive IRISZOOM Engine, and a whole lot more airpower to help you fight for domination of the Fulda Gap. The campaigns will also be much more dynamic, making this a game to watch for.
At least this warnerd is kinda keen.
