Raspberry Pi gets Ice Cream Sandwich topping

Raspberry Pi gets Ice Cream Sandwich topping

The few Australians lucky enough to own the Raspberry Pi can now choose an Android OS over the standard Linux

The Raspberry Pi is an impressive little PC which scored five stars in our review, thanks to its affordability and generally fun nature.

Traditionally the Raspberry Pi uses a Linux OS but one of the members on the Pi project has managed to get Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) running on the credit card sized PC.

The Raspberry Pi's single 700MHz processor is less powerful than many smartphones making this a surprising achievement. The Pi has become a darling of the tech crowd thanks to its low price, remarkably robust offering and its intention to get younger people excited about programming.

With everything up and running apart from AudioFlinger support, we're expecting the finished source code to be released soon and we'll have more when it becomes available.
