Before the launch of the Galaxy SIII we were a little surprised by the sheer quanitity of rumours (some occasionally quite accurate, other not so much) that flowed around the the device. After all, this was Samsung, not Apple - normally only Cupertino can induce such excitement.
Samsung even deftly worked with the hype, releasing a rather cheeky teaser ad suggesting people would soon be able to "stand out from everyone else" - illustrated with a shot of some sheep, just in case the point didn't get across.
It transpires that Samsung might have jumped the gun on that - apparently owning a Galaxy SIII will actually put you firmly in with a crowd of 10 million people according to Yohap, a Korean news agency reporting on the sales figures for the phone.
It's a little under a month since we estimated that the eight-figure mark would be breached in July, so it’s not a big surprise, but it is a truly impressive result. If you're wondering why 10 million people think the SIII is all that, read our review - but don't expect to be too much of an iconoclast for owning one.
