Windows Phone 8 release date revealed?

Windows Phone 8 release date revealed?

Microsoft's latest Windows phone OS will be on shelves by the end of the year, according the the latest from the online rumour mill

Windows Phone 8 handsets could be in our hands in November, according to ZDNet's source – dashing hopes of a simultaneous Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 launch on October 26th.

However, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has told the New York Times that Windows Phone 8 software would be released in October – which could suggest that Nokia Windows Phone 8 devices will get a month's head start with the OS before it's released to other devices in November.

Considering many pundits believe that Microsoft's success will lie in its ability to provide broad device integration for consumers using the Metro interface, this timing seems to make sense.
