Rumour – iOS 6 to give iTunes Store a social revamp

Rumour – iOS 6 to give iTunes Store a social revamp

Incoming software update to overhaul music, iBookstore and App Store and add Facebook integration: report.

Apple will use its next big iOS update to give a major revamp to its content stores, according to a new rumour.

9to5Mac has been told by “sources familiar” with the update that the iTunes Store, App Store and iBookstore will all receive overhauls to improve interactivity when making purchases.

Facebook integration will apparently be a big part of this – at least for the iTunes Store. This ties in nicely with comments made a couple of days ago by Apple CEO Tim Cook, who hinted at greater Facebook integration coming to Apple products soon.

We expect to hear more on iOS 6 at Apple’s WWDC keynote, which takes place on June 11th.
