Console reviews of Max Payne 3 went live around the globe in the wee hours of the morning, and the return of the New York cop that tends to get the nasty end of the stick has been scoring in the green. But while we PC gamers have to wait a bit longer for our version of Max Payne 3, Rockstar hasn’t been afraid to field some specific fan questions on Twitter.
And they’ve answered one of the biggest questions of them all: will Max Payne 3 make use of the divisive Microsoft-forged Games for Windows Live (GFWL)? In short: no. The 140-character-limited ‘long’ story comes straight from the official Rockstar Twitter channel in response to user @Koalacrisp’s question. “No, Max Payne 3 for PC will not use Games for Windows Live”.
It really doesn’t get any clearer than that, and having had hands-on time with preview code for Max Payne 3 on PC and Xbox 360, I can honestly tell you that waiting the extra weeks until June will reap more benefits than just the mere absence of GFWL.
Are you waiting for the PC release of Max Payne 3, or jumping the gun and locking down a console version on Friday?
