The gamer-friendly Ultra M3 is available now exclusive to JB Hi Fi, with pricing starting at $1,399. It comes with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT640M graphics card, a full-sized keyboad and an optical drive: three rarities that set it apart from most Ultrabooks on the market. It also offers a choice between second generation Core i5 or i7 processors.
Other highlights include up to 6GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB + hybrid 20SSD hard drive, USB 3.0 support and Windows 7 Home Premium. The Ultrabook also comes with Acer's Green Instant-On tool which allows you to boot up from sleep mode in 1.5 seconds and connect to the Internet in 2.5 seconds.
Connectivity options include three USB ports (2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.0), HDMI, audio, Gigabit Ethernet and a 2-in-1 card reader (SD and MMC).

Measuring 20.7mm at its thickest point and weighing over 2kg, the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M3 isn't the most portable of Ultrabooks. However, the extra boost in 3D processing should definitely make up for this, particularly for gamers.
According to Acer's Consumer Notebook Product Manager Aaron Jambrovic; "The [Ultra M3] is capable of running the latest gaming titles including Battlefield 3 and is perfect for users after a large screen, excellent video editing and gaming performance in a thin and light form factor.”
Battery life is rated at 8 hours during use and up to 80 days in standby mode.
