Many of you are probably aware of Freddie Wong’s excellent short-film work and, if you’re not, you should definitely lose an afternoon familiarising yourself with his YouTube channel. Freddie’s a bit of a geek and doesn’t mind flaunting it, as evidenced in his latest film ‘Skyrim Badass’ that, well, shows how your typical warrior-type plays Skyrim.
And, of course, by “your typical warrior-type”, I mean how I play Skyrim… or any other RPG for that matter. The only thing missing non-identical to how I play as an aggressive warrior in Skyrim is the ‘quicksave’ pop-up at the beginning of the video that would indicate that I’ve decided to wander away from whatever quest I was doing (let’s be honest, it probably wasn’t the main quest, anyway) and decided to go rogue and kill ev-ery-one.
The trick is that those adventures off the beaten quest path would quite regularly end up being hour-long distractions. Damn you, Skyrim, and your addictive gameplay formula. This one’s for you.
