Huawei Ascend P1 gets global release

Huawei's dual-core Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone will launch in Europe this summer

Huawei's dual-core Ascend P1 smartphone will be hitting Europe in winter, following launches in Asia and Latin America this May and June respectively.

The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone isn't quite as skinny as its 6.68mm P1 S counterpart, with a comparitively chunky 7.69mm waistline – but it packs the same 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and 4.3in Super AMOLED 960x540px 256ppi screen.

You also get a 8MP 1080p rear camera and 1.3MP 720p front camera. Oddly, the Huawei Ascend P1 only packs in a 1670mAh battery, unlike its slimline P1 S counterpart's 1800mAh battery.

So are you going to pick up the P1, or hold out for its skinnier sibling? Let us know in the comments section below.
