This deal has been around for donkey's years, but with GTA V just around the corner we thought it was worth highlighting to the few of you who missed the original memo. If you're a long-time GTA fan looking for a hit of nostalgia, head over to Rockstar Games. The website is offering free PC downloads of select Rockstar titles, including Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2.
"The Rockstar Classics collection is our series of complimentary full PC game downloads, provided exclusively to members of the Rockstar Games mailing list," explains the Rockstar Games website. "It's a chance for new fans to experience the roots of Rockstar as well as our way of saying thank you to our long-time supporters."
In all, there are three titles available to download: Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto II and Wild Metal (a Road Warrior-inspired 3D combat game).
To gain access to the free downloads, you need to sign up to the Rockstar Games mailing list, which provides a direct link to each game file. The games, which total between 170MB and 328MB, have been optimised to support modern PCs and the Windows 7 platform.
Rockstar is only offering one game per customer, although the site doesn't appear to track IPs, so there's no reason why you can't sign up with multiple email addresses to get all three games.
