iPad, Android users: Get your digital magazine here

Haven't downloaded the April iPad and Android editions of PC & Tech Authority? See what you're missing out on.

If you haven't yet tried reading PC & Tech Authority magazine on your PC or tablet, now's the time. No trip to the newsagency, it costs a bit less too, and on the iPad you get all the interactive extras.

Take the latest issue of PC & Tech Authority for the iPad. You can download it from iTunes. It's got everything that's in the print edition except the disc, plus you get:

  • Our intro to the new iPad. Our first thoughts and impressions. Plus, photos from the US launch event.
  • A dose of Star Wars. A look at the new MMO galaxy in the Star Wars: The Old Republic game trailer.
  • Interactive comparisons - a side-by-side spec gallery for comparing laptops. Easier than Google.
  • A shopping list on your iPad, called the A-List.

Don't have an iPad? Get the digital edition for Android and PC

We now have a special digital issue of PC & Tech Authority magazine for you, via the publishing platform Zinio. You can create an account and download the free Zinio reader to view each issue here.

It's a pity that the Zinio service signs you up for continuous purchases. When this may first came out, I purchased a copy (it says it charges you for 2 issues), and then tried to immediately cancel the subscription as I just wanted to see if I liked the digital version. I followed the link and got a reply saying I had to contact someone else to cancel the subscription but I replied back saying that the link said they would cancel it. Basically got the run around. Why can't we just buy one issue?

If you go to www.Zinio.com then search "PC & Tech Authority" you can find the latest issue and buy it individually. To wit:

Are the Ipad extras in the Android version as well?

I tried this magazine on my Android tablet. Basically it shows up like a PDF file which makes it difficult to navigate and read.

I don't know what the ipad version is like but if it has its own app does this then make the magazine display any better?

The Zinio service is pretty average I feel.

Thanks for the link to the individual issues. I haven't used Zinio much and so I just followed the link given in the article. Perhaps they should use your link :-)

Hi marts, the iPad version takes advantage of the interactive features possible with iPad apps - you can watch video, swipe through images galleries (you get to see more photos that aren't in the print magazine). Our A-List is interactive, and sometimes we include 360-degree "spinning" photos of interesting products. Zinio is designed to work on a whole range of screen sizes and devices.

Hi William, Now that Zinio is on the Playbook any idea on whether the interactive features are available, I am tempted to go paperless but only if its truly worthwhile.
Thanks.

It's not good experience for purchasing the issue. But you may change to another place if the next time you have to buy such issue again.
