Samsung’s plans to unveil a Galaxy Note 10.1 at MWC 2012 came to light a couple of weeks ago. As if to prove that hearsay and rumourmongering can come to some good, that same rumour has become fact in the shape of the now officially launched Galaxy Note 10.1.
That means Sammy’s existing 5.3in Note has got some serious company, though as we suspected the 10 incher’s been stripped of the call-making abilities of the Samsung Galaxy Note we reviewed back in November (see link above).
Fear not, though. The Galaxy Note 10.1 will be bringing the S Pen to a more recognisable tablet format, and it’s bringing the latest version of Android – 4.0, or Ice Cream Sandwich – along for the ride.
To blast that sticky goodness through its PCB we’ll find a 1.4GHz dual-core processor on board and Samsung’s also tricked out the Galaxy Note 10.1 with a 3MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing camera.
It should give management types pause for thought in choosing a jotting tablet for meetings, plus Samsung’s pushing it as a serious educational tool, perhaps in response to Apple’s iBooks 2 announcement.
