Know how to backup and restore an Exchange 2010 server? This free online training aims to fill a basic gap in the skills of IT pros.

As a public service for the IT community, it doesn't get much better than this. Paul Cunningham is offering free Exchange Server 2010 training via his web site.

A self-described "Exchange server guy", Paul says via his Web site that his course is designed to suit the "complete beginner".

The course is in four parts, covering:

  • creating your own Exchange 2010 training lab environment
  • configuration of each of the Exchange 2010 server roles
  • managing recipients with the Exchange 2010 management tools
  • backing up and restoring an Exchange 2010 server

With a self-professed penchant for video training, Paul promises videos, as well as screen shots and text.

His site also outlines various other places to find training material for Exchange Sever 2010, including TechNet , Microsoft Press books, and training videos you pay to watch.

By Paul's own reckoning a significant proportion of IT professionals only have basic Exchange Server skills and experience.
