Star Wars: The Old Republic finally gets Aussie release date

It's officially official. Australia will be getting a local release of Star Wars: The Old Republic on March the 1st. Plus more details revealed!

The fastest growing - and possibly most-anticipated - MMO of all time is getting an official local release on the 1st of March in Australia, as well as New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The game has controversially been available for American gamers since last year, and many Australians have taken advantage of overseas sales, or EB's decision to grey import the game, and are already playing on US servers. However, those already playing will be pleased to know that Bioware and EA will be offering free transfers to Asia Pacific servers.

There's more bonuses for having to wait, too. There's an in-game item, a crystal, to change the colour of weapon effects available as pre-order bonus for Australian and New Zealand customers, and all players will be eligible for a Founder's Medal.

The Standard Edition of the game will cost $79.99, while the Origin-only Digital Deluxe Edition is $89.99, and both come with 30 days of free game time.

About time.
