Android's Bouncer zaps malware apps before they come to Market

Google has revealed a new system for screening out malware from Android apps. If your name's not on the list, you're not coming in!

Google's new scanning service, codenamed "Bouncer," screens apps before they're published to the Android Market, scanning the code for known malware and either banning them altogether from the Market or flagging them up for review.

Bouncer can also simulate an Android phone, enabling it to run apps and checking them for hidden malware.

Bouncer's actually been active for "a while now," according to Google. Aren't you glad Google's been looking out for you?
