The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is considered by many to be the thinking gamer's RPG - it features a rich cast of deep characters, mature plotting, lots of choices, and grim world that's every bit as flawed and complex as our own.
It also caused many a PC to chug, and was not short of the odd bug. But it's epicness cannot be denied.
Now, Xbox diehards are going to get their chance to see what all the fuss is about, when The Witcher 2 comes to the console on April 17.
“The Xbox 360 version is a complete adaptation of the game to the new platform; we’ve rewritten the code so it feels native to the console," said Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED studio. "This latest version of The Witcher 2 has been expanded in many ways, and some experts believe it to be one of the best-looking games ever to make it to consoles.”
Well, my 6990 would disagree, but enough grousing.
The Enhanced Edition features new quests, now plot twists, and new locations, so even PC fans will have a reason to have a look at the new edition. Plus, owners of the PC version of the game will be able to download added content free of charge, proving CD Projekt Red really do know what they're doing when it comes to releasing games.
And, what's more, the new CGI intro to the game is one of the most exciting bits of fantasy film we've seen in a while. Enjoy!
