LG officially unveils the Optimus Pad LTE

It's round two for LG as its Optimus Pad enters LTE territory for the very first time.

LG is taking another stab at the tablet game with the official unveiling of the 8.9in LG Optimus Pad LTE. In a bid to stand out from the mass of Android 3.2 Honeycomb clones, LG has packed its new tab with the True HD IPS 1280 x 768 display, which made its debut on the LG Optimus LTE smartphone.

In addition to its eyeball-friendly display, the Optimus Pad LTE is also the first slate to come with SD card support (up to 32GB). Not exactly a deal breaker for most, but it does mean faster read/write speeds than microSD-toting tabs.

A 1.5GHz dual-core processor sits under the hood, complemented by a full HD video shooting 8MP camera with flash, a 2MP cam up front and 4G capabilities - just in case you didn't get that from its name.

The 9.3mm-thick slate will keep you connected with HDMI and DLNA certification, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chucked in as standard.

Its first port of call will be South Korea, with no word from LG on whether its shiny new slate will be making its way into our neck of the woods.

But as it's "initially" launching there, there's still a glimmer of hope for us in the UK. Who knows, we may even get to prod and swipe it at next month's Mobile World Congress.

PC Authority AUSTRALIA, can you please get your act together?

"But as it's "initially" launching there, there's still a glimmer of hope for us in the UK. "

We are NOT in the UK, we are in Australia. I can understand copying and pasting from other articles (to a point) but this is not the first time I see UK references in one of your articles. How about actually READING the article you copy, modify it for us mere Australians, THEN publish it.

It would be most appreciated. Let the Queen save herself and all that.

Regards,
Ed.
