No 3G Transformer Prime, confirms Asus

Looks like future Prime owners will have to resign themselves to tethering.

Back in December we reported that Asus Italy's Facebook page suggested that there would be no 3G Transformer Prime and now Asus has stated that "no such product exists on its current roadmap," according to Focus Taiwan.

That means that the upcoming Transformer Prime HD (which we had a hands-on with at CES) will also be Wi-Fi only.

Although disappointing, there's nothing stopping you from data-tethering with your smartphone and – thanks to the Transformer Prime's USB port – you can charge your phone while you tether.
