Modern Warfare 3 to get a mess of DLC over the next nine months

Modern Warfare 3 to get a mess of DLC over the next nine months

There's going to be more content than ever before coming for Modern Warfare 3, and Premium Elite members will be getting it all for free.

The next nine months is going to see a metric expletive-tonne of content come out for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. In fact, between January and September fans can expect 20 discrate content drops.

Even I'm pretty impressed by that.

As promised, Premium subscribers of Activision's Elite service will get the content for free, while other gamers will have to pay for it. And it's all coming to Xbox first, with 'additional platforms' getting the content at a 'later time'.

So, in other words, if you're playing on PC, you can pretty much almost ignore the news. We'll be getting it late, and since Elite's not looking likely on PC anytime soon*, who knows when we'll get the privilege of paying for the new maps.

But if you're at all curious, or play on Xbox, we've got some preview screens of two of the new maps in the attached gallery.

* From the Elite FAQ: "We’ve been working closely with Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games to customize a Call of Duty ELITE membership offering for the PC. Since the PC is an open platform, it’s difficult to provide the secure data and statistics necessary for the premium tier of Call of Duty ELITE. Because of this, there will not be an Call of Duty ELITE premium offering on the PC in the near future, but we are continuing to work towards a free Call of Duty ELITE offering and will continue to update the community with more information post launch."
