One of the biggest disappointments we carried away from last year's E3 (apart from not drinking a martini at The Standard) was that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was not coming to PC after all.
It was a surprise at the time, so much so that even my local Ubisoft rep, who I toured the stand with, was surprised. But there it was: Ubi was going to release Future Soldier on console, with full motion support and all that jazz, and then release Ghost Recon Online for PC, a free-to-play shooter.
However, after visiting a couple of EB Games to keep tabs on Star Wars: The Old Republic, we noticed something odd - EB were taking pre-orders for the game on PC.
Something, as they say, isn't right. But there it is, in our crappy iPhone pic, despite official word from Ubisoft as late as last month that it wasn't coming.
It's in multiple shops, and EB insists its legit. Ubi's not got anything to say - yet - and it's certainly not on their recent release schedules. The only thing we can surmise is that an announcement on the game's availability on PC is due very soon (so watch this space!), and that once again EB is thumbing its nose at a major games publisher.
Curiouser and curiouser...
