LG unveils voice-controlled TV remote

Siri on Apple iTV? Step aside, LG has it covered already

LG voice remote controller

LG has got a voice remote controller on the way, so your shouting at the TV will actually cause a reaction at last – though telling Kyle Sandilands where he can go might not actually change the channel.

With Apple’s iTV rumoured to use Siri to control the viewing experience, LG has decided to storm ahead. The Korean giant has added voice controls to its nifty remote that also sports a rollerball for quick selections – presumably when you’re feeling hoarse after a big night out.

There’s no word on a release date or pricing yet – but expect most LG 3D Cinema TVs in 2012 to come with a remote that likes to listen.
