Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 ads take a dig at Apple

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 ads take a dig at Apple

Samsung has hit back at Apple with a cheeky ad slogan after the court allowed sale of its tablet.

The gloves are off down under as Samsung celebrates it's recent patent victory against Apple with a set of ads that describe the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as "the tablet Apple tried to ban".

Earlier this week, Samsung Australia's vice president of telecommunications Tyler McGee stated that attempts by Apple to ban the sales of the Galazy Tab 10.1 for infringing on its iPad patents has actually increased the spotlight on the Galaxy Tab.

We're sure this isn't the last we'll hear of the courtroom sparring between these two tech giants.

Echoing what I've been saying all along ... Petulantly pointing the finger at a foe in the playground focusses scrutiny on yourself and can have the effect of showing your target in a very flattering light. Touche`

Correct.
But in IT that "flattering light" you refer to only lasts 3 months.
After that, your R&D arm determines the outcome of your business.

Sure, I think Sam has the creds you refer to - compare their range/quality compared to just 10 years ago. From "also-ran" to definite shortlist addition.

The free publicity generated just gives them an extra push in what looks like a good direction.

As we know, most (probably ALL) companies copy bits and pieces from each other (look at everyone trying to copy Amazon at the moment). Some companies curiously forget they "copied and improved" and then pretend they invented the very thing they improved.

Once the 'cases' are proven to be shams, the world just moves on, and THAT is happening now.

...and in 10 years, no one will remember these Samsung ads or the Apple courtcase, only their experiences with the devices themselves (how many times have we looked back at mobiles, walkmans, etc from 15-20-25 yrs ago & said "man, i remember those - i used mine for *ages*"?). And Steve Jobs himself has gone on record saying the Samsung tablet was a real competitor to the iPad

Well they had a good teacher.

Apple contracted the assembly for some of their products to "Sammy" and little Sammy thought I can copy that!

Same as Google got an inside look at iOS via their CEO being on Apple's board.

How can you actually ban something that isn't copyrighted. I wouldn't of thought you could just ban a tablet or product just because they're your competition..
Doesn't quite make sense.
